← Back Anonymous 15 | Osteoid Osteoma

This is a 13 year old boy who came to see Dr. Vitale for back pain. He was referred to Dr. Vitale by another orthopedic surgeon. The pain had been going on for a year and getting worse. This was worked out by an MRI which recommended a CT to further identify an area of suspicion.

After he had the CT scan, he was found to have a non cancerous tumor in his spine called an osteoid osteoma. The plan was to remove the tumor and to fuse the spine in that area. At his 6-week visit, he reported no pain and was told that he could return to doing all his favorite things without restriction!
