Ameeka George, RN, MS, CPNP

Ameeka George is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in managing patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions. Ameeka graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Biomedical Engineering in 2011. After completing her undergraduate studies, she began working as a biomedical engineer in a Gait Laboratory at Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children. She worked with a multi-disciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and physical therapists to treat children with Cerebral Palsy and other neuromuscular conditions. This is where she realized her passion to work with this population, but wanted a more hands on role with these patients.

She then moved on to start her career in nursing and graduated from Columbia University’s School of Nursing in 2016 with both her BSN and MS degree. After graduation, she worked in primary care at an underserved clinic in the Bronx, where she primarily treated adolescents. She is thrilled to have returned to orthopedics in 2018 as a nurse practitioner.
