Perioperative Orthopedic Quality & Safety Newsletter | October 2017

October | 2017
Happy October! Over the past few weeks, the Columbia Ortho team has had the privilege of hosting Mike Spencer to provide lean leader training to senior management staff within the department. This included case studies applying structured A3 problem solving to the department, as well as working with NYP Nursing’s Emily Jackson and Jeffrey Hammond to understand the value of daily management systems in sustaining improvement. The importance of a shared language for improvement across the entire spectrum of patient care, from appointment scheduling, to billing, to clinical care delivery, can’t be emphasized enough, as we look forward to delivering value to our patients, both outside and within the hospital.
