Spine: Base to Summit Meeting 2025

Michael G. Vitale, MD, MPH, participated in the Spine: Base to Summit Meeting, January 17–20, 2025.

As a faculty member, Dr. Vitale gave the following talks:

  • How a pediatric spine surgeon views the treatment options
  • Case presentation#2: 22-year-old with 55-degree TL curve. Peds surgeon or adult surgeon?
  • Safety in spine surgery: Lessons from NASCAR, NASA, and industries where failure isn’t an option

He also participated as part of the panels in the sessions, “Career & Lifestyle,” and “The Challenges of the Transition from Peds to Adult Patients”.

Course Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Describe the indications, techniques, and outcomes for the surgical management of degenerative, deformity, trauma and tumor spine cases.
  2. Discuss ways to avoid and/or manage spinal surgery complications.
  3. Discuss new surgical techniques and technologies and how to apply them in practice.
