A Virtual Monthly Meet-Up for Kids in Scoli Braces

Next Bracing Support Group: July 8, 2026 | 5:30 PM

The Bracing Group is a monthly virtual meet-up created for kids and adolescents who wear scoliosis braces. Hosted through the Pediatric Orthopedic support teams at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Kids, this group provides a welcoming space where patients can connect with peers who understand the unique experience of living with a brace.

Designed to promote confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being, each session includes engaging brace-positive activities, mindfulness and coping strategies, and open conversation with other kids who “get it.” Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and build supportive friendships in a relaxed and age-appropriate environment.

The group is held virtually once a month, making it easy for families to join from home. After registration, participants will receive a Zoom link and meeting details by email 24 hours before the scheduled meeting time.

What participants can expect:

  • Brace-positive games and activities
  • Open conversations
  • Brace-management exercises
  • Peer support and social connection
  • A safe, encouraging environment led by experienced pediatric providers

We hope you'll join us!
