This month Dr. Michael Vitale led a CME on Innovations in Scoliosis. He was a co chairmen with Dr. Clifford Tribus. It was titled Spring Deformity Course that was sponsored by Stryker Spine. It offered participants the opportunity to learn more about treatment options for spinal deformities. The course was a combination of different faculty members speaking about spinal deformity as well as opportunities to hear about master’s techniques and skill lab.

As I prepare to return to the operating room and the office, I look back on this ten-week “forced sabbatical” with deep gratitude: gratitude to my surgeon and friend, Christopher Ahmad; to my partners for covering for me; and to my patients whose schedules were disrupted.
